About Jardins dHeva
Jardins dHeva is a small, curious blog about the things that fill an ordinary week at home and the plans that pull us out of it. One evening that might mean working out how a streaming setup really behaves; the next it could be choosing a paint colour, potting up basil or deciding what makes a birthday invitation worth keeping. We like the mix, and we suspect many readers live with exactly the same mix.
What you will read here
Our pages roam across a handful of neighbouring subjects that keep overlapping in real life:
- TV and tech at home: internet television, picture quality, recording and time-shifting, and the gadgets around the screen.
- Home, decor and garden: lighting, colour, layouts, upkeep and the small green projects that brighten a windowsill or a back yard.
- Events and celebrations: invitations, receptions, rentals and the details that make a gathering feel personal.
- Travel and going out: trips worth planning ahead and places that reward a curious appetite.
- Hobbies, games and sport: from biome-hopping in block-built worlds to choosing the right grip size.
- Online tools: practical software and services that make a job at home a little quicker.
Unsure which corner to explore first? The New Here? page offers a short tour, and our Handy Checklists collect the to-do lists we keep returning to ourselves.
Who writes it
A small team of writers keeps the blog going, each publishing under a pen name. Between us we cover screens and gadgets, rooms and gardens, parties and trips, and the hobbies that fill a free afternoon. None of us claims professional titles or special qualifications; we are keen amateurs who dig through manuals and maker notes, test what can safely be tested at home and report back in everyday words. You can read more about how we approach each piece on The Gardener's Notebook.
How articles come together
Ideas usually start with a question someone asked us, or one we kept asking ourselves. We read around the subject, compare guidance from manufacturers, makers and long-standing hobby communities, and test the practical steps when that is possible at home. Then we write the piece the way we would explain it to a friend at the kitchen table: what matters, what can wait, and where to be careful.
Some of our articles mention companies, shops or services, and a few link to them. A mention simply means the business was relevant to the topic; it is not a personal endorsement, and you should always compare options and read the terms yourself before buying or signing anything.
What we will not pretend to be
We are not a consumer testing lab, a legal adviser or a substitute for a qualified tradesperson. Where a task involves electricity, gas, water pressure or structural work, we will say so and suggest calling a professional. For anything to do with health or money, our writing is general background only.
Say hello
Readers regularly spot things we missed, suggest topics and tell us when an older post needs a refresh. That help keeps the blog useful. If you have a thought to share, the Reach Us page explains the easiest way to get in touch, and we read every note that comes in.
